Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries, by its subsidiary Sembcorp Utilities, has signed a joint fashion framework agreement (JDFA) with PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia (EPI), a subsidiary of PT PLN (Persero), and PT Transportasi Gasoline Indonesia (TGI), a joint enterprise between PT Pertamina Gasoline Negara and Transasia Pipeline Company, to keep a capability hydrogen transportation pipeline connecting Sumatra, the Riau Islands in Indonesia and Singapore.
The agreement goals to facilitate the creation of a regional hydrogen hub, tapping on PT TGI’s skills in natural gasoline transportation at some stage in Indonesia.
As announced on October 24, 2023, and October 21, 2024, Sembcorp and PT PLN EPI are partnering on the capability fashion of a green hydrogen production facility in Sumatra, Indonesia, with an annual skill of 100,000 metric tonnes.
This challenge is expected to be Indonesia’s first green hydrogen export to Singapore as neatly as Southeast Asia’s perfect green hydrogen fashion initiative. The produced hydrogen would be exported by the explain of a subsea pipeline.
